Rick Brouwer, Executive Director
Rick, a professional forester, lives in Terrace with his wife and daughter. While he has lived and worked throughout the western half of BC, he grew up in the Skeena-Nass region and believes there is great potential for creating a new natural resource economy.
Brad Pollard, Board Chair
Brad Pollard is a long term resident of Northwest BC with a strong interest in balancing the region's economic future with the values we derive from our natural resources. Since 1990, Brad has worked as a resource consultant throughout the west coast of Canada, focusing primarily on fish and wildlife issues. He has spent two terms on the board of the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine and on the Terrace city council. Brad was also the chair of the Kalum Land and Resource Management Plan Implementation Committee between 2006 and 2011. Last year, he took a sabbatical from his job to complete a Masters Degree in Sustainable Forest Management.
John Nester, Board Treasurer
John works as an investment agent in Terrace and has been involved in many regional organizations, including being the president of the North West Loggers’ Association. As treasurer of SNCIRE’s board since its inception, he's looking to break the Northwest's boom bust cycle.
Norm Parry, Board Member
Norm is the newest board member on the SNCIRE team, joining in May 2014. For many years, Norm has served as the Timber Sales Manager for the Skeena Business Area of the crown agency BC Timber Sales. He is a Registered Professional Forester based in Terrace, BC.
Joe Wong, Board Member
As the Manager of Woodmere Nursery in Telkwa, Joe supplies seedlings to many forestry companies and has seen the reduction in activity in the Skeena-Nass. He’s been secretary of SNCIRE’s board since its inception in January 2009.
